An established Egyptian trained actor; Christine Solomon is of Egyptian, Syrian and Lebanese ethnicity; born in Egypt but raised in Montreal from age seven. She is fluently trilingual actor-model-dancer, a member of The Egyptian Actor's Union. She has performed in a wide range of productions across Canada, United States and Egypt.
Growing up, Christine was exposed to various styles of acting and different cultural & genres of films. Here, she was introduced to various actors who later became amongst her biggest influences, including Sherihane, Aamir Khan, Jackie Chan, Michael Cain and Johnny Depp.
Christine has been a performer since her tender years and took up gymnastics at the age of eight and thrived from the very beginning until the age of twelve. She began modeling at the age of thirteen after winning several competitions among them are at The International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) and Model Search America; she felt a strong pull toward acting and dancing.
Her drama teacher encouraged her to audition for the theatre program at Dawson College. Therefore, without telling her parents who were critical of her ambitions as an actress, Christine auditioned for the program. Little did she know that she was going to be taken in for a three year ride. After auditioning one hundred and seventy candidates that day, the faculty only selected eighteen applicants, including Christine Solomon.
During her first year in theatre, her instructors and directors were consistently impressed and amazed at the level of diligence and professionalism that she presented. This helps to explain why, despite the fact that first year students were barred from performing on stage, a second year director chose Christine to perform in his play.
In addition to her theatre degree, Christine has also obtained training at the John Strasberg Studios, at the Arthur Murray Dance School, the Groundlings and at the Debbie Reynolds Studios. She has been previously trained by Robert Miano, a well-established actor and coach in Hollywood; who has worked with Al Pacino, Johnny Depp and Burt Reynolds.
Christine shows a strong support for the Breast Cancer Foundation and Make Poverty History. She has already performed at several benefit concerts which helps raise money for Cancer Research.
Christine chooses to pursue her dream as a working actor. She explains, "I don't believe in giving up; if we give up too quickly, we'll never find out how close we were to reaching our objectives". A passionate theory to live by.
Look for Christine Solomon in more preeminent roles in the near future.
